Gender Equality Perspective Event Series Continues

The second event in the series, organized in partnership between İstasyonTEDU and Turkishe Network, explored various topics from a gender perspective under the theme "Disasters and Crises." It took place on February 6, marking the second anniversary of the Kahramanmaraş earthquakes. Prof. Dr. Kezban Çelik, Dean of TED University’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences, moderated the discussion. As speakers, the event featured Kemal Çelik, Projects and Business Development Director at Needs Map, Özlem Günel Tekşen, a volunteer lawyer from the EŞİK Platform, and Yusuf Berk Şenkafa, Senior Specialist of the Kale Group Social Entrepreneurship Program. The panelists examined the efforts made during and after the earthquake from a gender perspective, discussing inequalities in the field and sharing the solutions developed to address them.

The second event of the series will take place on Thursday, April 10 at İstasyonTEDU under the title #Language and Culture, moderated by Dr. Murat Göç from TED University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and with the participation of Assoc. Prof. Çimen Günay-Erkol from Özyeğin University Department of Modern Literature and Masculinity Studies. In this event, we will discuss the impact of language and culture on gender equality, how the words we use in daily life shape social norms and why the transformation of language is important in the struggle for equality.
