Turkey Social Entrepreneurship Network Research Project
 

Turkey Social Entrepreneurship Network Project is launched under the coordination of Vehbi Koç Foundation and Koç University Social Impact Forum (KUSÄ°F), with the collaboration of Ä°stasyonTEDU Social Innovation CenterIt is funded by the EU Civil Society Sector Grant Scheme for Partnerships and Networks and will continue for 2 years.

A comprehensive potentials and needs analysis report will be prepared on social entrepreneurship in the light of workshops with collaboration of civil society organizations, public institutions, entrepreneurship, and social entrepreneurship ecosystem players in various provinces in Turkey. In this scope face-to-face interviews and consultations were organized in Van, Gaziantep, and Samsun in December 2018, in Kayseri and Bursa in January 2019, and in MuÄŸla in February.

Ashoka Turkey, Social Innovation Initiative Association, Innovative Solutions Association for Sustainable Development, Mosaic Foundation (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and the Social Enterprise UK (England) are other partners of the project.

Objectives of the project are:

  • Social entrepreneurship training of trainers will be organised for those who work in the field of social entrepreneurship.

  • An online platform will be created where stakeholders throughout Turkey can become part of the dialogue and create ideas of cooperation, be informed of the latest developments, and reach to resources of information.

  • In order to improve the legal status of social entrepreneurs, workshops and round table meetings will be organised with legislators, government agencies, development agencies, and ecosystem actors.

  • Events will be organised to bring social entrepreneurs and social investors together, to connect local social entrepreneurs with international entrepreneurs and to make success stories visible.

Turkey Social Entrepreneurship Network as an outcome of the project will aim to create support mechanisms for the social entrepreneur candidates and to strengthen actual social entrepreneurs. It also aims to facilitate the access of social enterprises to financial and non-financial resources by increasing the interest within the private sector, financial institutions and public institutions.
