İstasyonTEDU Held a Panel at the 8th International Conference on Higher Education Studies

As part of the 8th International Conference on Higher Education Studies, organized by the Association for Higher Education Studies on October 17–18, 2025, a panel titled “A Model for a Social Impact–Driven Academy: İstasyonTEDU Social Innovation Center” was held.

The panel brought together Dr. Sinem Güravşar Gökçe, Dr. Aslı Aygüneş, Elif Muratoğlu, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ersan Ocak as speakers. The panel discussion explored the role of social entrepreneurship and social innovation within higher education, while also highlighting İstasyonTEDU’s areas of work, community-based approach, institutional structure, and financial sustainability model. Drawing on its experience as a social innovation center operating within TED University since 2016, İstasyonTEDU shared its journey and practices with participants.

The panel also explored how universities can move beyond being institutions that solely produce knowledge and take on a more active role in creating social impact. Through the example of İstasyonTEDU, the discussions highlighted innovative mechanisms that build bridges between academia and the social entrepreneurship and social innovation ecosystem, examining their place within the higher education system and their transformative potential from a multidimensional perspective.
